The Chicago Bears return home to host a tough Week 9 NFL matchup vs the Miami Dolphins on Sunday and we have all the latest intel on the big game in Chi Town.
Miami is looking good at 5-3 after winning two straight following the return of QB Tua Tagovailoa to the starting lineup. WRs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle form the most dynamic pass catching combo in the NFL, while Miami loaded up at the NFL trade deadline by acquiring OLB Bradley Chubb and RB Jeff Wilson.
The Bears meanwhile are coming off a 49-29 loss to the Dallas Cowboys, which in reality wasn’t quite as bad as that final suggests. They looked improved on offense and the trade for Chase Claypool at least gives the exciting Justin Fields another weapon to throw to.
Bears vs Dolphins Best Bets
Here are our best bets for the big game, which has a 1pm ET kickoff:
Spread: Dolphins (-4) to beat Bears
Miami is all in on 2022 after being very active at the trade deadline, and we love the way this team is developing right now.
Rookie HC Mike McDaniel is one of the more innovative offensive minds in the NFL right now and he has that high-powered unit really humming. The Fish came from behind to win 31-27 in Detroit last week, and they have so many weapons it is untrue.
Wilson adds to another former 49er Raheem Mostert in an excellent backfield while the likes of TE/WR hybrid Mike Gesicki just add to the threat posed by Hill and Waddle.
The Bears are excellent offensively in running the football, and we expect them to have some success Sunday despite the fact Miami’s run defense is stout. It won’t be enough though – this threatens to be a track meet and we don’t see how the Bears keep up.
Chicago traded away its best two defensive players (DE Robert Quinn and LB Roquan Smith) ahead of the deadline and that should have McDaniel and co smacking their offensive chops.
Tua meanwhile is directing things nicely from under center – while he is not hitting bigtime throws he is not missing easy ones. It’s his accuracy and ability to process what is happening at the line of scrimmage which is really standing out.
Take Miami -4 to grab another road win vs an NFC North team.
Player Prop: Mike Gesicki Over 2.5 Receptions (+115, Unibet)
Gesicki is a matchup nightmare for any defense and we expect him to be an integral part of the Miami gameplan Sunday.
Listed as a TE, Gesicki has WR traits too meaning he’s really really tough to cover for LBs and safeties. Take him to cover a pretty low mark for receptions here as Tua and the Fish again put up big numbers.
