Legal sports betting near Vermont
While you cannot physically bet legally inside the state of Vermont, you can cross the state line into some of its neighbors to wager on the right side of the law:
New Hampshire: Pretty simple equation here. Travel for a couple of hours and you can start to bet legally. The options are limited in NH right now to online with DraftKings, but that will grow. You can bet online or on the app from anywhere in-state, as long as you are aged 18 or over.
New York: The options to bet in the state of New York are surprisingly limited. Only a handful of upstate casinos are licensed, and so far nothing online or mobile. For a list of licensed sites, check out our New York state guide.
Are offshore sportsbooks legal in Vermont?
While it may be very tempting to sign up with an offshore sportsbook, we’d strongly advise you to show caution.
These sportsbooks are not licensed in the U.S. and not legally allowed to take bets in the United States.
If you do bet with them, you have very little protection, so we’d tell you to hang fire until Vermont legalizes sports betting or be willing to travel to enjoy the fun.
