Tiger Woods fever is subsiding in the public betting as the greatest golfer ever to tee it up falls out of contention for the 2022 Masters at Augusta National.
Woods fired an opening round of 71 Thursday after a remarkable comeback from that car wreck which broke his legs and so nearly finished his professional career. But then he carded a 74 on Friday to lie nine shots off the lead held by Scottie Scheffler at halfway. Saturday was even worse as a 78 left him 16 (SIXTEEN) shots off the pace.
Scheffler takes a three-shot lead over Cameron Smith into the final round Sunday, with South Korean Sung-Jae Im (five shots back) the only other likely winner.
